The gaming industry continues to grow rapidly, and it is projected to grow another 30%
in the next three years1
. Online gaming is driving this growth as the industry is making a
seismic shift from disk to digital. This shift comes with an abundance of opportunities and
challenges, as digital gaming makes it easier than ever to get games into the hands of more
players, in more places, in less time.
TechValidate Research surveyed 131 Akamai Technologies, Inc. customer accounts to find out more about how gaming
companies are innovating the marketplace and the challenges they need to overcome in order to do so. The results show
the importance of web security, that acquiring and retaining new users is the biggest business challenge companies are
facing, and that mobile is taking over as the most popular gaming platform.
Over the course of several months in 2011, IDC conducted a research study to identify the opportunities and challenges to adoption of a new technology that changes the way in which traditional business solutions are implemented and used. The results of the study are presented in this white paper.
Research conducted by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), sponsored by Oracle,
provides answers. The results show that a proactive security strategy backed by a fully
engaged C-suite and board of directors reduced the growth of cyber-attacks and
breaches by 53% over comparable firms. These findings were compiled from responses
by 300 firms, across multiple industries, against a range of attack modes and over a
two-year period from February 2014 to January 2016.
The lessons are clear. As cyber-attackers elevate their game, the response must be an
enterprise solution. Only C-suites and boards of directors marshal the authority and
resources to support a truly enterprise-wide approach. In sum, proactive cyber-security
strategies, supported by senior management, can cut vulnerability to cyber-attack in half.

To compete in today’s world, business
leaders are placing increased demands
on IT. Unfortunately, many IT
departments are not able to deliver
future innovation with their current
infrastructure, applications and

must digitally transform the enterprise

Avanade research supports this

decision-makers believe that IT
modernization is crucial to addressing
the emerging requirements of the

On the upside, those surveyed also
indicated that by modernizing their IT
infrastructures they expect to deliver
real business results, such as boosting
annual revenue by 14%, while at the
same time reducing business operating

like a winning strategy but what does it
mean to adopt cloud native
approaches, and how does it impact

Flexible work arrangements (FWAs) can come in many forms, including telecommuting, compressed workweeks and flexible scheduling that allows employees to perform tasks outside of core business hours. Improvements in technology have made FWAs possible for a broader segment of the labor force, but some of these arrangements have yet to achieve widespread acceptance in many organizations’ workplace cultures. However, SHRM research shows that participation in some FWAs has risen in recent years, and these measures have yielded positive results for companies’ recruitment and retention efforts, as well as their employees’ development and productivity.
