Data pipelines are a reality for most organizations. While we work hard to bring compute to the data, to virtualize and to federate, sometimes data has to move to an optimized platform. While schema-on-read has its advantages for exploratory analytics, pipeline-driven schema-on-write is a reality for production data warehouses, data lakes and other BI repositories. But data pipelines can be operationally brittle, and automation approaches to date have led to a generation of unsophisticated code and triggers whose management and maintenance, especially at-scale, is no easier than the manually-crafted stuff. But it doesn’t have to be that way. With advances in machine learning and the industry’s decades of experience with pipeline development and orchestration, we can take pipeline automation into the realm of intelligent systems. The implications are significant, leading to data-driven agility while eliminating denial of data pipelines’ utility and necessity. To learn more, join us fo

In this case study, a large enterprise with an increasing amount of off-site work from both work-related travel and a fast-growing remote workforce, is faced with a unique challenge to ensure their data security is scalable and impenetrable. Their data access policies rely on physical access management provided at the company offices and do not always provide off-site employees with the ability to complete work-critical tasks. Legacy security solutions only add burden to productivity, sometimes causing employees to ignore security protocols in order to simply complete their work. Upon evaluating security vendors for a frictionless solution, they selected BehavioSec for its enterprise-grade capabilities with on-premise deployment and integration with existing legacy risk management systems.

At no other time has data played such a crucial role in the success of our commercial sector, and no more so than in financial services. We can see this powerfully illustrated when we pause to consider the growth of data driven ‘technologies’ such as Artificial Intelligence and their prevalence in driving innovation in areas such as risk management, multi-channel customer experience and fraud detection. So keen is the sector to use data to deliver advantage, that PwC says startups with a strong AI-based offer attract some of the most lucrative funding – to the tune of $1 billion over the past two years.1 With this as our landscape, and the continued drive to deliver data-driven innovation the prospect of disruption and downtime is something that cannot be countenanced. This being the main reason why the senior management of most organisations continue to buy into tried-and-tested Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies. We all feel assured that if we ‘double up’ our investments in – as f

It’s not uncommon to find slick-looking user interfaces, well-run product demos, and exciting sales narratives when evaluating a data management platform (DMP), but don’t let those features distract from the elements needed for day-to-day and long-term strategic success of a DMP. Whether you’re looking to invest in a DMP for the first time or want to switch to a new provider, there are a few crucial factors to consider before signing on the dotted line. Key functionality, architecture, and partnership dynamics are all important factors, but they rarely surface until your team is hands-on and using the platform. Once you dig in, it can quickly become apparent that a shiny interface and smart storytelling are a distraction from what really matters—at this point, it’s often too late. Avoid buyer’s remorse by considering these seven facets of all DMP providers before making your decision.

HOW TO USE THIS BUYER’S GUIDE Today, privileges are built into operating systems, file systems, applications, databases, hypervisors, cloud management platforms, DevOps tools, robotic automation processes, and more. Cybercriminals covet privileges/privileged access because it can expedite access to an organization’s most sensitive targets. With privileged credentials and access in their clutches, a cyberattacker or piece of malware essentially becomes an “insider”.

To achieve personalization at scale, brands need to develop a better understanding of each customer they interact with, and that’s all about combining all the data they collect from every available source into a single cohesive customer view. There is no way they can handle this task or manage all this data manually, which is why data management platforms (DMPs) rose to prominence. Today, companies are looking to build on this single customer view with a real-time understanding of their audience across every digital channel, marking the next phase on the maturity ramp for DMPs.

Component Content Management: A New Paradigm in Intelligent Content Services While technology has changed the world, the way that companies manage information has inherently stayed the same. The advent of near-ubiquitous connectivity among applications and machines has resulted in a data deluge that will fundamentally alter the landscape of content management. From mobile devices to intelligent machines, the volume and sophistication of data have surpassed the ability of humans to manage it with outdated methods of collection, processing, storage, and analysis. The opportunity afforded by the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) has stimulated the market to search for a better way to capture, classify, and analyze this data in its journey to digital transformation (DX). The paradigm of document-based information management has proven to be a challenge in finding, reusing, protecting, and extracting value from data in real time. Legacy systems may struggle with fragmented information

In January 2016, the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program released a draft of its high-impact baseline for moving federal data to the cloud. Not long after, Amazon Web Services (AWS) accepted an offer to pilot the new security threshold. AWS worked with FedRAMP to develop a set of standards under which highly sensitive government data could securely migrate into cloud environments. If ever you doubted that cloud computing was the new frontier for federal data and software management, look around. Over 2,300 government agencies worldwide have already migrated to the AWS Cloud. And in the U.S., this will only increase with the release of FedRAMP’s high baseline standards. Previously, CSPs could only become certified at a low or moderate baseline under FedRAMP, meaning agencies had no security baseline from which to spring their sensitive data into the cloud. These new standards effectively represent the fall of the final formal barrier to federal cloud computing. Terabytes o

Public clouds have fundamentally changed the way organizations build, operate, and manage applications. Security for applications in the cloud is composed of hundreds of configuration parameters and is vastly different from security in traditional data centers. According to Gartner, “Through 2020, at least 95% of cloud breaches will be due to customer misconfiguration, mismanaged credentials or insider theft, not cloud provider vulnerabilities”1. The uniqueness of cloud requires that security teams rethink classic security concepts and adopt approaches that address serverless, dynamic, and distributed cloud infrastructure. This includes rethinking security practices across asset management, compliance, change management, issue investigation, and incident response, as well as training and education. We interviewed several security experts and asked them how public cloud transformation has changed their cloud security and compliance responsibilities. In this e-book, we will share the top

This white paper considers the pressures that enterprises face as the volume, variety, and velocity of relevant data mount and the time to insight seems unacceptably long. Most IT environments seeking to leverage statistical data in a useful way for analysis that can power decision making must glean that data from many sources, put it together in a relational database that requires special configuration and tuning, and only then make it available for data scientists to build models that are useful for business analysts. The complexity of all this is further compounded by the need to collect and analyze data that may reside in a classic datacenter on the premises as well as in private and public cloud systems. This need demands that the configuration support a hybrid cloud environment. After describing these issues, we consider the usefulness of a purpose-built database system that can accelerate access to and management of relevant data and is designed to deliver high performance for t
